Scenarios
Before you being the game, you will need to choose a scenario to play. Your Mission Leaders will also work with you to set several other options before you begin. A game scenario consists of one bridge and determines how the sector will be laid out as well as objectives of the mission.
Before starting your Mission: Helios experience, players will need to select one of the available scenarios. Each scenario offers a unique set of challenges and objectives, ranging from intense combat situations to strategic resource management and exploration. The choice of scenario will determine the layout of the sector and the specific goals your crew will need to achieve. This selection process is crucial as it sets the tone for the entire mission and ensures that the experience aligns with the interests and skills of your team.
Our Mission Leaders are here to assist you in making the best choice for your crew. They will provide detailed explanations of each scenario, highlighting the key challenges and objectives. Additionally, they can offer recommendations based on your team's preferences and experience level. Once a scenario is selected, the Mission Leaders will help set up the necessary options and configurations to ensure a smooth and engaging experience. Their expertise and guidance are invaluable in preparing your crew for the mission ahead.
Our Standard Scenarios
Siege
In the siege-type scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will face intense and relentless challenges as you defend your spaceship from enemy forces. This high-stakes mission requires strategic planning, quick decision-making, and seamless teamwork to repel the attackers and protect your vessel. Each bridge station plays a crucial role in the defense, from the Helm navigating evasive maneuvers to the Weapons station targeting and neutralizing threats. The siege scenario tests your crew's ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situations, providing an exhilarating and immersive experience.
Single Front
In the Single Front scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will navigate a sector where friendly bases are lined up along the right edge, while enemies enter from the left. This layout creates a longer game with extended travel distances, requiring careful planning and resource management. The isolated positioning of the bases means that your crew must be vigilant and strategic in defending each base while managing the long journeys between them. This scenario emphasizes endurance and coordination, challenging your team to maintain a strong defense over a prolonged period.
Double Front
In the Double Front scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will face enemies advancing from two sides while defending bases positioned in a corner and protected by dense minefields. This layout creates a complex terrain situation, requiring careful navigation and strategic planning to manage the dual threats effectively. The minefields offer some protection but also add to the challenge, as your crew must maneuver through them without triggering explosions. This scenario tests your team's ability to coordinate and adapt to a multifaceted battlefield, ensuring that both fronts are adequately defended while maintaining the integrity of the bases.
Deep Strike
In the Deep Strike scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will launch an assault into enemy territory without the presence of friendly bases. Instead, a friendly bulk cargo ship provides resupply support, allowing your crew to engage in offensive operations deep within enemy lines. This scenario challenges your team to operate independently and strategically, relying on the cargo ship for support while navigating hostile territory. The absence of friendly bases increases the risk and intensity of combat, requiring your crew to coordinate effectively to achieve mission objectives. The Deep Strike scenario offers a high-stakes and dynamic game play experience, testing your crew's ability to adapt and succeed in hostile environments.
Peacetime
In the Peacetime scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will experience a calmer sector with minimal enemy presence, allowing for exploration and strategic planning. This scenario offers a more relaxed game play environment, with fewer enemy ships and a focus on completing quests and objectives. The reduced threat level provides an opportunity for your crew to engage in non-combat activities, such as scanning anomalies or assisting friendly ships. The Peacetime scenario encourages teamwork and collaboration in a less intense setting, allowing your crew to explore the sector and interact with various elements at their own pace.
Border War
In the Border War scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will navigate a sector with both friendly and enemy bases, separated by a neutral zone. This scenario introduces a unique dynamic where your crew must navigate the neutral zone and engage in combat only after a declaration of war is received. The time delay before war is declared can be customized to create tension and strategic uncertainty, requiring your crew to prepare for conflict while maintaining diplomatic relations. The Border War scenario tests your team's ability to navigate political complexities and make strategic decisions under pressure, ensuring that your crew is prepared for unexpected challenges and shifting alliances.
Infestation
In the Infestation scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will face a relentless swarm of BioMechs that threaten the sector with their unchecked reproduction. This scenario presents a unique challenge where your crew must exterminate the BioMechs to protect the bases and secure victory. The sector will be populated with BioMechs of all stages, along with asteroids and anomalies that facilitate their breeding. Your crew must work together to eliminate the infestation and prevent the BioMechs from overwhelming the sector. The Infestation scenario tests your team's coordination and combat skills, requiring strategic planning and decisive action to eradicate the threat and emerge victorious.
Monster
In the Monster scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will encounter a massive and powerful creature that poses a significant threat to the sector. This scenario introduces a formidable opponent that requires careful planning and coordination to defeat. The monster's unique abilities and behavior present a dynamic challenge, testing your crew's combat skills and strategic thinking. Your crew must work together to analyze the monster's weaknesses, develop a plan of attack, and execute it with precision to emerge victorious. The Monster scenario offers an intense and thrilling game play experience, pushing your team to its limits and rewarding strategic creativity and teamwork.
Quest
In the Quest scenario of Mission: Helios, your crew will embark on a series of challenging missions and objectives that test your skills and teamwork. This scenario offers a variety of quests, puzzles, and tasks that require strategic thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication to complete. Each quest presents a unique challenge that pushes your crew to adapt and collaborate to achieve success. The Quest scenario encourages creativity and exploration, allowing your crew to engage in diverse activities and encounters that enhance the game play experience. Whether you're navigating treacherous terrain, deciphering cryptic codes, or negotiating with alien factions, the Quest scenario offers a dynamic and engaging adventure for your crew.
