Before playing the game, you’ll first have to choose a scenario. Also, your Mission Leaders will help you make other decisions before you start. A game scenario is made up of a single bridge and defines the way the sector looks and what your crew’s goals are. Before beginning your Mission: Helios experience, players have to pick from among the various scenarios. Scenarios vary widely, with some being very combat-focused and others requiring you to strategically manage resources or explore. Your choice of scenario determines how the sector appears and what your crew needs to accomplish. Choosing a scenario is very important because it establishes the feeling of the mission and ensures that the mission fits with the interests and abilities of your team. Your Mission Leaders are here to aid you in selecting the ideal scenario for your crew. They can explain each scenario in detail, telling you about its major challenges and objectives.
In addition, they can suggest which scenarios would fit best with the preferences and experience levels of your team. After you’ve chosen a scenario, your Mission Leaders will assist you in configuring the proper options and settings so that your experience goes smoothly and remains interesting.
Ready Made Scenarios
Siege
Your team is going to be facing a lot of pressure as you try to defend your ship in this type of siege type situation during Mission: Helios. The enemy will continue to attack your ship until they are defeated. You are going to need to plan strategically, make quick decisions and coordinate with each other to get rid of all of the enemies that want to destroy your ship. All of the different stations on the bridge are going to help with defending against the enemy.
For example, the Helm position is going to navigate around the enemy fire while the Weapons position is going to target and destroy any threats. This siege-type scenario will test how well your team works together when things are happening fast and how quickly you can react to what is going on. It will also give you an exciting experience.
Single Front
When playing the Single Front mission type in Mission: Helios, your team’s mission is to operate within a sector where there is an alignment of Allied bases down the right side of the sector; however, enemy forces are coming into the sector from the left. Because this type of mission is longer than most other missions due to the distance your crew has to travel in order to get to one base and then back to another, it requires much greater attention to planning and managing your resources.
Additionally, since the Allied bases are positioned individually throughout the sector, your crew will need to plan ahead and be prepared to defend each base as well as to coordinate with each other when traveling from one base to the next. The Single Front mission types emphasize both the physical and mental endurance of your team members.
Double Front
The Double Front scenario of Mission: Helios is when your crew is fighting off enemy attacks on two different sides while defending two bases located at one corner and surrounded by large minefields. The minefield provides a level of defense for the bases; however, it also poses an additional challenge for your crew, since they need to get through it without setting off any mines. It is a good way to test how well your team can work together to defend against multiple threats while making sure the defenses of your base remain intact.
Deep Strike
In the Deep Strike scenario of Mission: Helios you are going to be launching an attack into enemy territory without any friendly base to provide you with supplies. A friendly cargo ship is going to provide all of your resupply needs and will allow your crew to conduct offensive operations deep into enemy territory. You will need to operate as a cohesive unit and strategically use the cargo ship as a resource while operating in a very hostile environment. With no friendly base to fall back on, there is a greater risk and higher level of intensity when it comes to combat.
Therefore, your crew will need to communicate and work together extremely well in order to complete your mission objectives. The Deep Strike scenario provides a challenging and intense gameplay experience that tests your crew’s ability to operate in a hostile environment and come out victorious.
Peacetime
In the Peacetime scenario of Mission Helios, you’ll be able to explore the sector in a much calmer manner than the other scenarios. There will be very little enemy presence (enemy ships), which means you’ll have more time to plan strategically and complete quests and objectives. Because there are so few enemies, this scenario creates a more relaxing gameplay experience where your crew can focus on completing quests and objectives. With the lower threat level, your crew can also participate in other types of activities besides fighting off enemy ships.
For example, they can scan for anomalies or help out allied ships.
As a result, the Peacetime scenario encourages teamwork and cooperation in a less stressful environment. It gives your crew the opportunity to go through the sector at their own speed and discover all of the different things within the sector.
Border War
In the Border War mission of Mission: Helios, your crew will be operating in a sector that contains both friendly and enemy bases. These two areas are separated by a neutral area. The Border War mission creates an interesting dynamic as it requires your crew to move through the neutral area and then begin fighting only once a declaration of war has been made. The time period from when the declaration of war occurs until when combat begins can be set to allow for increased tension and uncertainty among your crew.
Therefore, this type of scenario allows for your crew to develop strategies for how they will respond to conflict while also being able to continue to maintain relationships with other factions. The Border War scenario evaluates your team’s capability to understand complex political issues and respond strategically under pressure. It also provides your team with the opportunity to prepare for unexpected events and changes in alliances.
Infestation
The Infestation Scenario in Mission Helios is an opportunity for your crew to battle a never-ending wave of Bio-Mechs which are rapidly reproducing and could potentially take over the entire sector. To win this mission, your crew must destroy the Bio-Mechs to save the bases and secure victory. There will be multiple types of Bio-Mechs present throughout the sector, as well as asteroid fields and anomalous areas that encourage Bio-Mech reproduction.
As a result, your crew must work together to wipe out the infestation and keep the Bio-Mechs from taking over the sector.
Ultimately, the Infestation Scenario will test your crews’ ability to coordinate and fight as a unit; therefore, to successfully complete the mission and achieve victory, your crew must plan strategically and act quickly to eliminate the threat.
Monster
Your crew will face a large and powerful monster as part of the Mission: Helios’s Monster Scenario. A very difficult enemy for your crew to battle, the monster is a major threat to this sector. The Monster Scenario presents a formidable opponent that presents a great deal of strategy and cooperation to defeat. With the monster’s special abilities and behaviors, it provides an interesting and exciting battle for your crew to test their combat skills and ability to think strategically. Your crew will need to work together to find out what makes the monster vulnerable, create a plan to attack the monster, and then carry out the attack successfully in order to win the battle. As such, the Monster Scenario provides an exciting and challenging game play experience where your crew is pushed to their limits and rewarded for using their imaginations and working as a team to come up with new ways of thinking creatively.
Quest
The Quest scenario within Mission: Helios provides an opportunity for your crew to participate in a number of difficult missions and objectives designed to challenge your team’s abilities and cooperation. The Quest scenario contains multiple types of quests, puzzles, and other tasks which necessitate strategic planning, problem-solving, and good communication among members of your crew. Every quest provides a different type of challenge that requires your crew to work together as well as individually to accomplish its goal. The Quest scenario promotes creative approaches and allows your crew to explore the world around them while completing various activities and encountering new people/places/events; thereby enhancing the gameplay experience. Regardless of whether you are trying to navigate difficult areas of land/space, figure out what the “cryptic code” says, or negotiate with hostile alien groups, the Quest scenario will provide your crew with an exciting and engaging adventure.
Sector Exporation
The Sector scenario in Mission: Helios provides a large area of exploration where there are many points of interest, as well as obstacles. In this type of game, your crew has an opportunity to move throughout the entire sector; therefore, your crew has a chance to interact with numerous things within the sector. These include asteroids, anomalies, other players’ ships, and friendly bases. As your crew moves through the sector, your crew will have the ability to make choices on how your crew wants to travel, what your crew wants to accomplish, and ultimately what your crew wants to happen to your crew. As your crew travels through the sector, your crew can use its imagination to create new ideas and strategies.
Additionally, your crew will need to be able to work together in order to achieve success while playing the game.
Ultimately, the Sector scenario will provide your crew with a unique gaming experience that allows your crew to take control of how your crew chooses to spend its time while traveling through the sector.
Custom Scenarios
Mission Leaders may also design a custom scenario that is based on the specific interests and goals of the crew. If there is a certain storyline that you would like to include, if you would like to include some specific challenges or if you wish to achieve some specific goals, then the mission leaders will be able to help you achieve these. The mission leaders will use their knowledge and experience to develop an interesting and balanced scenario for the crew. The mission leaders will ensure that each part of the custom scenario is well-integrated and that nothing feels out-of-place. The ability to customize the experience makes the Mission: Helios experience a very unique and memorable one for the crew.
